The sermon explains that believers are called to be Christ’s hands and feet by surrendering their lives, refusing to be molded by the world, and allowing God’s Word to renew their minds. It stresses humility, warning against prideful attitudes such as comparing ourselves to others or looking down on people. The speaker encourages listeners to discover and use spiritual gifts—service, teaching, encouragement, giving, and leadership—to serve the church. He reminds that Scripture is complete, warns against false teachers, and urges those who have trusted Christ to live as a living sacrifice.

0:00
So one of my commentators as I was studying this week,
0:04
he shared a story about some college kids from Germany
0:15
after the damage from the German bombs in World War II.
0:20
So as the work went on, there was a large statue of Jesus in there,
0:29
and his hands were missing.
0:32
And on the inscription on the statue, it said,
0:38
Come unto me.
0:40
So they were having a hard time figuring out how to fix the hands of Jesus on the statue.
0:48
And they finally, instead of fixing the hands,
0:53
they changed the inscription to say,
0:56
Christ has no hands but ours.
0:59
Right? But ours.
1:01
We are Christ's hands and feet.
1:04
That we are, I mean, Jesus tells us in Matthew 28,
1:14
This is verse 19 and 20.
1:18
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
1:24
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
1:27
And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.
1:34
to be his hands and feet in this world.
1:37
He's going to be with us, but we are his hands and feet.
1:41
And in chapter 12, that's what Paul's speaking about.
1:45
He's speaking about, okay,
1:48
we know the mercies that God's given us.
1:52
If we read the first 11 chapters of Romans,
1:55
we know the mercies of God,
1:57
that he sent his son to die for us,
1:59
and so many mercies that he's provided for us.
2:03
So what do we do now?
2:05
And that's what Jesus said.
2:05
That's what chapter 12,
2:06
and actually to the end of the book of Romans is all about.
2:09
But I want to go back to Romans 12, verses 1 and 2.
2:16
We talked about these last week,
2:17
but without Romans 1 and 2,
2:21
we really can't be the hands and feet of Jesus.
2:24
So what is Paul asking us to do in those first two verses?
2:29
Verse 1 says,
2:37
What Paul's talking about there is,
2:48
if we are going to be Jesus' hands and feet,
2:50
we have to surrender our life to him.
2:52
If we're believers, we're to surrender to his will,
2:57
give up our will for his,
2:59
give up what we want to do for what he wants us to do.
3:02
Does that mean you have to give up all your activities
3:05
and things you like to do in life?
3:07
No.
3:07
But we have to give up all your activities and things you like to do in life.
3:08
We put Christ first, and we surrender to him.
3:12
Sometimes he asks us to do things we don't want to,
3:15
but that's a life of surrender.
3:18
But when we do, we find out that it's awesome when we serve him.
3:25
And in verse 2, we may be thinking,
3:29
how do we surrender our lives to him?
3:32
Paul tells us in verse 2, he says,
3:35
Do not be conformed to this world.
3:37
That means don't be molded into what the world thinks
3:41
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.
3:46
How are we renewed in our mind?
3:50
It is through God's word
3:52
and the Holy Spirit working through God's word
4:00
to think the way Christ does
4:03
instead of the way the world does.
4:05
So in order to be his hands and feet,
4:18
these next few, several verses,
4:22
he's going to be talking about
4:25
not only are we to surrender,
4:27
but Christ, or the Holy Spirit,
4:29
has given us, each believer,
4:36
to be his hands and feet,
4:39
to serve him, okay?
4:41
And in Romans 3,
4:43
Paul, I'm sorry, Romans 12, verse 3,
4:51
he's going to be talking about
4:52
what our spiritual gifts are
4:57
and what that looks like.
4:58
But he starts off this way.
5:02
For by grace,
5:04
for by the grace given to me,
5:07
I say to everyone among you,
5:10
not to think of yourself
5:11
more highly than we ought to think,
5:14
but to think with sober judgment,
5:18
each according to the measure of faith
5:20
that God has assigned.
5:23
Okay?
5:24
he's not just sharing his message here.
5:28
He starts right off and says,
5:29
by the grace given to me.
5:31
He is sharing the message of God
5:36
The believers in Rome here
5:38
and to us today.
5:43
And he's saying that
5:45
he doesn't actually use
5:47
the word apostle here,
5:49
but he's talking about
5:53
to be able to do this.
5:55
And if we,
5:56
if we look at Romans chapter one,
6:01
Paul talks about this.
6:04
He says,
6:08
through whom we have received grace
6:16
for the sake of his name
6:21
Paul uses the word we here
6:23
and he's talking about
6:24
the other apostles as well.
6:27
Okay?
6:29
to be an apostle.
6:31
And to have the authority
6:35
and to give us these commands.
6:39
Okay?
6:39
And I don't want you to think
6:41
that Paul thought of himself
6:45
or anything other than what we are.
6:49
If you look,
6:50
this isn't on the screen,
6:56
Paul speaks about himself
7:01
This is verse chapter 15,
7:03
It says,
7:05
for I am the least of the apostles
7:12
because I persecuted
7:14
the church of God.
7:16
Before Paul was called
7:19
to be an apostle,
7:24
and even in some cases
7:28
But God got a hold of him
7:29
on the road to Damascus.
7:31
And Paul gave his life to him.
7:33
So Paul's saying,
7:37
And so I'm really unworthy.
7:40
But if you look at verse 10,
7:42
what he says next is amazing.
7:43
He says,
7:44
but by the grace of God,
7:46
I am what I am.
7:49
And his grace towards me
7:51
was not in vain.
7:52
On the contrary,
7:54
I worked harder than any of them,
7:58
though it was not I,
8:00
but the grace of God
8:02
that is within me
8:03
or with, yes,
8:05
that is with me.
8:07
Paul knew he wasn't worthy
8:09
and he didn't know
8:09
he knew the only reason
8:10
he was able to be an apostle
8:12
was because of the strength
8:14
of the Lord.
8:16
That's the only reason.
8:18
when we serve the Lord,
8:21
when we,
8:22
even when we figure out
8:23
what our spiritual gifts are
8:25
and use those,
8:25
if we're going to be
8:26
the hands and feet,
8:27
we're only going to do that
8:29
through the strength of the Lord.
8:30
That's why at the end
8:37
the Lord says,
8:39
I will be with you
8:40
because we need you.
8:43
to do this.
8:45
But through our transform,
8:49
in verse 12,
8:52
in verse 2,
8:55
where Paul's talking about
8:59
I think it's interesting
9:00
in verse 3 here,
9:02
he uses the word
9:05
So he's just going off
9:07
of what he's already
9:07
talked about.
9:08
He says,
9:10
and then he says,
9:11
do not think of yourself
9:14
or himself
9:15
more than you
9:16
than he ought to think.
9:18
But to think
9:22
When our minds
9:25
we need to be humble.
9:30
that it isn't us
9:32
who give us
9:34
and it isn't us
9:36
where none of us
9:38
are any better
9:38
than the rest.
9:39
It's all about God
9:41
and what he has given us.
9:44
It's all about the mercies
9:45
that he provided for us
9:49
And I just wanted
9:52
to share a few ways
9:53
of how we struggle
9:56
with pride.
9:57
I know myself,
9:59
I have in the past
10:03
and still do at times.
10:05
But a few ways
10:07
that we can be prideful.
10:11
Sometimes we come in
10:15
and we come into the church
10:17
and it's all about us.
10:20
It's all about me.
10:23
And this is a major way
10:25
We come in
10:26
and we come in
10:27
and we think things like this
10:30
when we come into a church.
10:32
and we come in
10:32
and we're like,
10:34
do I like the chairs here?
10:35
Do I like the atmosphere?
10:37
How's the music here?
10:38
Do they have a good
10:43
is the pastor,
10:45
am I going to like the pastor?
10:47
It's all about us.
10:49
But in reality,
10:51
we have to remember
10:54
to worship me, us.
11:01
to worship him,
11:03
our savior, right?
11:06
as long as we're preaching
11:12
and God has called you here,
11:14
we need to be here.
11:15
Remember, it's not about us.
11:17
It's about him.
11:19
Another way we can be prideful
11:21
is we can depreciate ourselves.
11:26
And I've been guilty of this,
11:31
And what I mean by that is
11:34
about ourselves,
11:37
we talk about ourselves negatively.
11:41
Like, maybe we compare ourselves
11:46
is comparing themselves
11:48
to another singer.
11:50
They're both called by God.
11:51
They both have been gifted
11:52
with this gift.
11:54
But they compare themselves
11:56
to one another
11:57
and they're either going to
11:59
look up at the person
12:00
and be like,
12:04
or too small
12:05
or we're going to be
12:06
looking down at them
12:07
saying I'm above them.
12:08
But a lot of times
12:10
we compare ourselves
12:10
to other people
12:12
and we degrade ourselves.
12:14
We depreciate ourselves.
12:16
And a lot of times
12:17
we do this
12:19
because of pride.
12:21
Because we want the other person
12:23
to say,
12:24
hey, you're good.
12:28
I don't know what you're talking about.
12:29
And it builds us up,
12:30
makes us all happy and prideful, right?
12:33
And we look for that.
12:37
we may not be depreciating
12:40
ourselves for that fact.
12:43
we're not as good as others.
12:46
And we depreciate ourselves
12:47
but then what are we doing?
12:49
We're saying that God was wrong
12:51
in putting us in that position
12:53
or giving us this gift.
12:55
And then we're referring back
12:57
to ourself again.
12:59
And it's pride, right?
13:01
And I've been guilty of that
13:02
because I can look at
13:03
some of these pastors
13:04
that work at the river.
13:06
They've been working here
13:06
for 20 years
13:07
and preaching for 20 years.
13:09
And I try to compare myself to them.
13:11
And it's like,
13:12
if I do that,
13:16
to look down on myself.
13:18
And so,
13:19
I think I'm not good enough.
13:21
But God has called me
13:22
and he's called others
13:23
and he's given us gifts
13:25
and he's given each one of you
13:29
if you're a believer,
13:30
he's given each one of you
13:31
a gift as well.
13:38
and there was this quote
13:40
that I love
13:45
who the author was here,
13:47
but it says that
13:49
humility is not thinking
13:51
less of yourself.
13:53
It's thinking less of yourself.
13:55
It's thinking of yourself less.
14:04
If you want me
14:05
to prove it to you,
14:08
where Jesus depreciated himself.
14:11
He did not.
14:12
And he's our example.
14:15
in what he was doing,
14:16
but he was humble
14:25
of what God had done
14:27
in giving him to serve with.
14:29
And that's what we need
14:30
to do as well.
14:33
And the last thing is this.
14:36
The last way we can be prideful
14:39
and I think that we struggle with,
14:41
and there's more than this.
14:45
I know I can, but.
14:47
The last one is this.
14:51
We look down at other people.
14:53
We have the tendency
14:54
to want to elevate ourselves.
14:59
If we look at ourselves truthfully,
15:04
We want to be humble.
15:04
We want to be number one.
15:08
And what we do
15:09
is we look down at other people.
15:12
it goes back to the comparison thing.
15:14
We compare ourselves
15:16
to other people.
15:19
We look down.
15:20
Man, me and this person
15:24
have the same gift,
15:26
but if I was them,
15:27
I would do this.
15:31
We have no right to do that.
15:35
We're not God.
15:37
That is straight up pride.
15:41
And we have to remember
15:43
who Paul is writing to
15:45
or a lot here
15:46
in the Church of Rome.
15:48
He's talking to,
15:51
and he's also talking
15:56
who are not Jewish.
15:59
But the Jews had the tendency
16:01
to elevate themselves
16:06
because they were the people,
16:12
who he gave their word to
16:13
and who the Messiah
16:14
would come through their offspring.
16:18
And they had the,
16:19
some of them
16:21
tried to elevate themselves.
16:23
We have to be careful
16:24
not to do this.
16:26
There's a joke I love to tell
16:28
about this.
16:30
There was a pilot
16:36
They're flying out to Colorado.
16:38
There was a pastor.
16:39
One of the passengers
16:41
There was a young kid.
16:42
There was a doctor
16:45
And as they're traveling along,
16:46
the engines quit on the plane.
16:49
The pilot gets up.
16:52
Comes to the back.
16:53
There's a pile of parachutes there.
16:55
and he says,
16:56
fellas, I have some terrible news.
16:57
The plane's going down.
17:03
jumps out of the plane.
17:07
and he says,
17:13
and there's still many
17:15
that I can save.
17:16
So I think I deserve a parachute.
17:18
Oh, I forgot to tell you this.
17:20
When they looked
17:22
after the pilot left,
17:23
to their horror,
17:24
there was only three parachutes left.
17:26
There's four of them.
17:28
So the doctor takes one.
17:30
He jumps out.
17:32
The attorney says,
17:33
and he says this.
17:37
in the world
17:38
and I think I'm one
17:39
in the world.
17:40
That way,
17:40
that's why I deserve a parachute.
17:44
and he jumps out.
17:45
So he leaves one
17:46
between the pastor
17:47
and the young boy
17:48
and the pastor says,
17:52
I think you should
17:54
The kid says,
17:55
what are you talking about, pastor?
17:58
just jumped out
17:59
with my backpack on.
18:04
Pride comes before the fall
18:08
if you're a pastor.
18:08
If you will, right?
18:09
We have to be careful.
18:14
Look,
18:16
and we're all dependent
18:25
verses 26 and 28,
18:30
For in Christ,
18:33
if you're a believer in Christ,
18:36
you are all sons of God
18:39
through faith.
18:42
For as many of you
18:45
have put themselves
18:48
So, because we are in faith,
18:51
this is what he says.
18:52
There is neither Jew
18:55
And there is neither
19:01
For you all
19:02
are one in Christ.
19:05
There is no difference.
19:10
None of us are better
19:13
Because why?
19:14
We're all sinners.
19:16
And we've all fallen short
19:18
of the glory of God.
19:18
We've all rebelled
19:21
against God.
19:22
And if you haven't
19:24
and if you raise your hand,
19:25
you're lying,
19:26
so you're a sinner, right?
19:28
One of the other pastors
19:30
used to always say that.
19:31
So it's funny.
19:35
how do we become
19:37
First of all,
19:38
we have to understand
19:38
we are a sinner.
19:41
We have to understand
19:43
that Jesus is the only way.
19:45
And that without him,
19:47
there is a penalty
19:51
that this is
19:54
that the wages,
19:56
the cost of sin
19:59
is what that means.
20:00
But it goes on
20:01
and says,
20:02
but the free gift of God
20:08
God loved us so much
20:09
he sent his son
20:10
to die on the cross.
20:12
And when we put
20:12
our faith in him
20:13
and realize that
20:16
and paid the wage
20:17
or the cost
20:18
for our sin
20:19
so we could have
20:22
And when we realize that
20:24
and we come to him
20:27
that he died
20:29
for our sins
20:32
from the dead
20:34
from our life of sin
20:36
and coming to him
20:41
in Romans 10.9
20:43
because if you confess
20:44
with your mouth
20:46
and believe in your heart
20:48
that God raised him
20:49
from the dead
20:54
and we all need
20:55
there's no difference
20:57
we all need him
20:58
we all need the gospel
21:00
and that's it.
21:05
and says
21:06
at the end of verse 3
21:08
that he first gives us
21:16
he says
21:23
don't think of yourself
21:24
more highly than you ought.
21:27
And then he says
21:29
think with sober judgment
21:37
that God has given you
21:38
that God has assigned.
21:43
What does that mean?
21:46
evaluating ourselves
21:48
and others
21:50
with a clear
22:02
The things we just
22:04
I'm going to give you
22:07
Think of yourself
22:11
Think of yourself
22:15
and then he says
22:22
to the measure of faith.
22:26
here
22:33
that God has given
22:36
That is
22:38
that he's
22:43
in these verses
22:43
don't think highly
22:45
of your
22:46
don't think highly
22:46
of yourself.
22:53
and our faith
22:53
comes from God.
22:57
we do.
23:01
we are
23:04
We are not
23:05
going to make it
23:06
to heaven on our own.
23:10
we are
23:15
We are
23:16
because of
23:22
If we look
23:24
12-2
23:24
again
23:25
think of
23:26
yourselves
23:32
Think
23:32
of yourself
23:37
That comes
23:38
from the Lord.
23:39
Even that
23:40
comes from the Lord.
23:41
So if we're
23:42
going to be
23:44
in this world
23:45
we cannot
23:50
fall into that
23:51
but we cannot
23:57
most every sin
23:59
I'm going to say
24:00
every sin
24:01
comes from pride.
24:03
Why did Satan
24:04
or why did Eve
24:07
in the Garden of Eden?
24:09
Why did the devil
24:11
get thrown out
24:12
Why did Lucifer
24:13
get thrown out
24:15
He wanted to be
24:18
she thought if she
24:19
ate from the
24:22
that she would be
24:23
like God.
24:27
When we have
24:37
off with a command
24:41
and to don't
24:42
think of yourself
24:43
higher than you
24:44
ought
24:45
but think of
24:46
yourself
24:49
And then he gives
24:50
on what that looks like.
24:54
He says
24:58
is about the human body
25:03
and Paul does this
25:08
But he says
25:10
he says
25:10
for as in one body
25:12
we have many
25:15
and the members
25:16
do not all
25:18
have the same function.
25:22
we have to understand
25:24
that he's speaking
25:27
And I'm going to tell you
25:28
right now
25:29
has diversity in it.
25:31
Every one.
25:34
I know there's some people
25:36
in here who are really
25:39
I am not.
25:40
But if you ask me
25:42
to go out
25:42
and work on a car
25:45
I can do that.
25:46
Right?
25:48
We come from
25:50
We've had different
25:53
you know
25:54
and not only that
25:56
but God has given
26:06
and they're all different.
26:09
that way as well.
26:12
Just like the human body
26:14
there's many
26:19
and they do not all
26:22
have the same function.
26:25
Actually I work on the buses
26:26
here at the church
26:29
and I was talking
26:33
and he was talking
26:34
he was good at
26:35
and I invited him
26:37
to come out
26:38
and work on the buses
26:39
but he was not buying that.
26:41
Right?
26:42
But he couldn't work
26:42
on the buses
26:43
if he wanted to
26:44
but well
26:46
I shouldn't say
26:46
he might be able
26:49
it was like a joke to him
26:51
but just like the human body
26:56
you know
26:57
the hand does one thing
27:01
it's the same way
27:03
in the church.
27:05
We all have different parts
27:14
but we're also unified.
27:19
what our backgrounds are
27:23
we have
27:24
we've been brought here
27:30
God has brought us here
27:34
and each of you
27:36
have a gift
27:37
that he's given you
27:39
to do that.
27:46
talks about the unity
27:48
that the body of Christ
27:50
should have
27:50
as the believers should have.
27:52
It says
27:53
so we
27:56
are one body in Christ
28:01
of one another.
28:05
But we're diverse
28:08
because of Christ
28:11
we have unity
28:15
of one another
28:16
Paul says.
28:18
just like the human body
28:23
we need each other.
28:27
Look I can't do the stuff
28:30
but I can do the stuff
28:30
but I can work on the bus.
28:32
Right?
28:34
and I need Dylan and Ray
28:35
because I would be lost
28:41
but you would not want me
28:42
up here singing.
28:44
So I need for Joel
28:45
we need Joel here.
28:46
And look
28:47
it's the same with you.
28:49
You have gifts
28:50
that me and my family need
28:53
and I have gifts
28:54
that you and your family needs
28:57
as a body.
29:01
we build the body up
29:04
and then
29:05
as the body is built up
29:07
we go out into the world
29:09
and we share the gospel.
29:13
we need each other.
29:15
That's why Paul is saying
29:17
we're the body of Christ
29:20
We are the body.
29:24
and we need each other.
29:28
There's one other passage
29:32
I want to read here.
29:34
so we have to think about
29:37
I'll get to the passage.
29:38
I'll get to the passage in a second.
29:38
I want to tell you a couple of things.
29:41
We cannot be independent
29:43
of one another.
29:44
We can't do church on our own.
29:46
If we're doing church online
29:48
because we're sick
29:49
that's great.
29:50
But if we're doing church online
29:51
just to skip out
29:56
the weight of your gift.
29:59
I hate to tell you that.
30:02
the weight of your gift.
30:04
that maybe that isn't
30:05
even their gift
30:06
that they're doing
30:07
because you're not here.
30:08
And maybe not doing
30:10
your part.
30:10
And Paul says this
30:17
18-20
30:19
Because as it is
30:24
in the body
30:25
each one of them
30:28
If all were a single member
30:30
where would the body be?
30:34
As it is
30:35
there are many parts
30:38
He's telling you the same thing
30:40
I just told you.
30:42
We need one another.
30:43
We can't do it.
30:45
I can't do it.
30:46
on my own.
30:47
I need you.
30:49
And you need me.
30:58
to do what?
31:01
not for us
31:05
but to serve
31:08
which Christ is the head of.
31:13
And Paul goes on here
31:14
and he's going to give us
31:19
He gives us a list.
31:22
this is not the entire list.
31:25
He's just giving us
31:25
an example here.
31:27
And we're going to talk
31:27
about these real quickly.
31:29
But in verse 6
31:31
it says
31:31
having gifts
31:38
let us use them.
31:41
Let us use them.
31:43
So he says this
31:50
to our faith
31:51
I'm going to actually
31:53
the other verse too
31:54
and then we'll go back
31:55
and talk about what they are.
31:56
Verses 7 and 8
31:58
If service is your gift
32:01
in our faith
32:03
the one who teaches
32:06
the one who exhorts
32:11
the one who contributes
32:14
the one who leads
32:17
the one who does
32:22
So he starts off
32:25
and he talks about
32:27
he talks about
32:29
he says with faith
32:31
and then he says
32:32
with in serving
32:36
or if you're
32:39
if you're a teacher
32:41
and if you're
32:42
and if your gift
32:48
and that seems silly to me
32:50
when you read that
32:52
it's like okay
32:54
and you're saying
32:56
but here's why
32:58
because a lot of us
33:00
are sitting here
33:02
and we're not using them
33:09
God gave it to you
33:12
you're here
33:13
and you're here
33:16
to use that gift
33:18
and Paul's saying
33:21
that's what he's saying
33:23
in these first four
33:24
but I want to talk about
33:30
and this word
33:34
this one gets
33:35
really mixed up
33:36
okay
33:37
so when he's talking
33:39
he's not saying
33:41
that these people
33:44
that's not what he's saying
33:55
and before the Bible
34:08
to share with the people
34:09
and with apostles
34:11
even before
34:14
God would share things
34:15
with the apostles
34:16
for them
34:19
he would give them
34:25
that's where we got
34:26
the word of God from
34:33
now that we have
34:42
it does not need
34:44
to be added to
34:45
God does not
34:47
reveal things to us
34:49
that are outside
34:50
of this word
34:51
he does not
34:53
I'm going to give you
34:57
I'm not telling you
34:59
this to offend you
34:59
I'm telling you this
35:04
they got a word
35:08
than the word
35:09
right here
35:10
they are a false teacher
35:12
they are a false teacher
35:14
this is the revelation
35:17
it's the complete
35:30
because we don't
35:33
but listen to what
35:35
about the scripture
35:36
this is Jude
35:37
there's only one chapter
35:39
so this is verse 3
35:40
it says
35:44
to write to you
35:46
about our
35:54
for the faith
35:55
that was
35:56
once
35:56
for all
36:02
about this
36:03
once
36:04
for all
36:04
for all
36:06
we need no further
36:08
because we have it
36:12
we have it
36:12
we have something here
36:14
that they didn't have
36:17
that they didn't have
36:19
that the apostles
36:21
that God hasn't
36:24
we should be thankful
36:26
we have the revelation
36:28
and we need to be careful
36:30
of what we're listening to
36:33
also
36:38
Peter says this
36:45
just as there are
36:50
this verse down
36:51
is because
36:55
of the past
37:00
what does he say now
37:02
just as there are
37:06
there is a transition
37:08
from the old
37:09
to the new
37:11
we have the revelation
37:15
there is no prophets
37:18
there is no
37:20
honestly there is no
37:22
because
37:23
we have the written
37:33
and that Jesus
37:35
to be an apostle
37:36
Paul was the last one
37:39
he talks about
37:46
is pretty much
37:50
that needs to be done
37:51
you want to
37:52
he's not here
37:53
so I'm going to
37:54
talk about him
37:54
I'll tell him I did
37:57
I'll tell him I did
37:58
has the gift of service
38:01
he is
38:08
and guess what Mike is
38:09
he is a deacon
38:10
he will do
38:14
he's the one
38:16
that mows the grass
38:17
and gets things done
38:18
he's
38:18
honestly he's one of my
38:20
but if you want to know
38:23
what service is
38:24
it's doing whatever
38:26
he don't have to be up
38:28
on the stage
38:34
and he loves it
38:44
of the word of God
38:48
than
38:53
and calling you
38:54
to come to the Lord
38:57
is more like
38:59
what we do
39:00
where we talk
39:01
and we learn
39:05
okay
39:21
building others up
39:26
when they're weak in faith
39:30
sometimes it's just
39:32
and saying
39:33
brother I'm praying for you
39:35
I'm praying for you
39:37
or calling them up
39:39
on the phone
39:42
that is
39:46
that's an encourager
39:47
and do you know
39:53
so they can help others
39:55
the one who contributes
40:02
they're givers
40:05
to others in need
40:06
and it don't always
40:08
have to be money
40:09
it can be material things
40:12
it can be our attention
40:14
but it's
40:19
of others
40:20
the one who leads
40:45
for me
40:46
kind of like that
40:48
but it's like
40:52
actually
40:54
is kind of like that
40:56
he comes alongside us
40:57
he's in us
41:00
and we
41:01
if we think of it
41:02
we're not the Holy Spirit
41:04
but we
41:05
it has that kind of idea
41:09
actually I got
41:11
there
41:12
I'm talking about
41:13
one thing
41:13
and thinking about
41:18
the idea of
41:29
I don't know
41:34
I know that's a big one
41:37
this person would show that
41:40
as we close out
41:56
each one of you
41:58
who have put your faith
41:59
he's given you a gift
42:04
and if you're here
42:12
is your home
42:15
to use that gift
42:17
what is it?
42:22
I don't know
42:23
what your gifts are
42:24
sometimes we have to
42:26
figure those things out
42:32
this
42:32
you're not here
42:34
God brought you here
42:38
that you're here
42:39
what we
42:53
we would say
42:58
and without you
43:08
you have chills actually
43:15
but that is the truth
43:17
and if you're not sure
43:19
what your gift is
43:21
which that was me
43:31
as you're faithful
43:32
and serving him
43:35
that you have a gift
43:37
and it might not even be
43:41
it might be something
43:42
you're not even aware of yet
43:44
but as you serve
43:49
and he will give you
43:53
what that gift is
44:00
Romans 1 and 2
44:05
coming that
44:12
and having
44:17
through the scripture
44:19
and even before that
44:22
it comes from
44:27
did on the cross
44:28
if we want to be
44:31
the hands and feet of Jesus
44:33
we have to
44:34
put our faith in him
44:37
in order to do that
